As Vince Lombardi's quarterback, Bart Starr's Packers won NFL Championships in the 1961, 1962, 1965, 1966, and 1967 seasons. Following the NFL championships in 1966 and 1967, he led the Packers to convincing victories over the champions of the rival AFL in the first two Super Bowls and was named the Most Valuable Player of both games. He is the only player to quarterback a team to five NFL championships. In 1999, he was ranked number 41 on The Sporting News' list of the 100 Greatest Football Players. Starr has an NFL award named after him. The Bart Starr Award is given annually, by a panel of judges, to an NFL player of outstanding character.

In 1993, Reggie White became a free agent and was signed by the Green Bay Packers, where he played for six seasons. While not quite as prolific as in his years with the Philadelphia Eagles, White still notched up another 68.5 sacks, to become the Packers' all-time leader in that category. He helped the Packers to two Super Bowls, including a victory in Super Bowl XXXI. That victory was the only championship White ever shared in at any level. In 1998, White was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year. At the time of his retirement, White was the NFL's all-time sacks leader with 198. White also recorded three interceptions, which he returned for 79 yards. He recovered nineteen fumbles, which he returned for 137 yards and three touchdowns. His nine consecutive seasons (1985–1993) with at least ten sacks remain an NFL record. He was named an All-Pro for thirteen of his fifteen seasons, including ten as first-team selection.
